We wouldn’t be surprised if it was delayed again in the future (though we hope it doesn’t), but it’s good to see Suzuki and his team’s efforts paying dividends. The game has seen its share of delays, but finally seems to be on track for release.

Taking place immediately after the second game, Shenmue 3 sees Hazuki travelling to Guilin in China, where he meets Ling Shenhua, who’s been appearing in our protagonist’s dreams. Originally slated for August of this year, the game suffered a delay until this month. The sequel was one expected to never happen due to the infamous poor performance of the original games, but. The unlikely sequel to the innovative series has had a long road until now, but at one point we were actually suppose to get the game earlier. Reddit Shenmue 3 was something of a miracle, once-in-a-lifetime type of deal.
